INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE
LOUISIANA COUNTRY COLORFEST PARADE
OCTOBER 15, 2011
The Louisiana Country Colorfest will be celebrating its 27th year in October! We invite you to plan now to
participate on October 15, 2011. By entering a float or becoming a volunteer, you can help make this a great
celebration of Louisiana’s history and the great changes we are seeing in our community. Awards will be
presented in these categories:
Best of Show, Most Colorful, Best Decorated, and Walkers’ Division.
Route: This parade will begin at the Louisiana High School Parking Lot on the west end of Georgia Street and
proceed East down Georgia to Main Street—expect to turn right (South) only at this point!
Line up:
Floats and vehicles will be lined up on arrival by parade officials at the Louisiana High School.
4 Wheelers and ATV’s line up at east end of parking lot.
Antique Tractors line up at Louisiana High School.
Car Show Vehicles line up at the Louisiana High School.
Bands line up at Sunset Park at 20th and Georgia.
Antique Cars line up at Sunset Park at 20th and Georgia.
Walkers line up at 8th and Georgia Streets.
Horses are not allowed in the Louisiana Country Colorfest Parade.
Judging begins at 9:30 am so be sure to be in line BEFORE then.
Start Time: Promptly at 10:00 am Emergency Vehicles will leave Louisiana High School.
The Louisiana Police Department will assist with radio transmission to them if necessary. Dignitary vehicles
will follow and then rotation will begin with floats, bands, etc.
COME OUT AND HELP US MAKE THIS COLORFEST PARADE ONE TO REMEMBER
(We want to remind everyone that NO ONE will be allowed to throw candy or other items from vehicles.
Walkers may walk along the parade route handing out candy or prizes. This rule was implemented to ensure a
safe parade and for everyone’s protection. There will be no exceptions to this rule, and violators will be asked to
exit the parade.)
So we can place your group in the appropriate place in the parade, please complete the Colorfest Parade
Participation Form below and return it to the Louisiana Chamber of Commerce at the Address listed above.
